Kokoro
Author: Natsume Soseki
Description: Apparently, it is the best-selling Japanese novel of all time (of course, this label will disappear, maybe not long from now). I read the book in Romanian, translated by Iolanda Prodan. I really like how she translates, using clean, natural language. I will look for more books translated by her. The novel takes place in the Meiji era (1868-1912). The main characters: the author (student), Sensei, Mr. K, the young lady (and a few other relatives). A pleasant read, which flows very well even a century after its publication.
Year: 1914
